ACPA Recognizes the Mount’s Michael A. Post

mike post Emmitsburg, Maryland - Michael A. Post, vice president for enrollment management at Mount St. Mary's University, is the recipient of the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) award for Outstanding Experienced Professional (11+ years).

The award is given to experienced higher education professionals working in or overseeing admissions, orientation, or first-year experience programs.

"We are thrilled Michael's excellent work in enrollment and retention at the Mount is being recognized on a national level," said University President Thomas H. Powell. "With his guidance, the Mount is enjoying record enrollment levels, and his love for our campus and dedication to recruiting fine Mount men and women is a hallmark of his leadership."

Post was named Vice President of Enrollment Management in 2010, after serving as the Mount's Director of Residence Life, Dean of Students and Dean of Admissions.

"I am deeply honored to receive this award," said Post. "To be recognized by my peers for work on something as important as student recruitment and development, and to receive it from such an impressive organization as ACPA, is very special. It is really humbling to receive the award, although none of my accomplishments would have been possible without the teams I worked with over the years in Residence Life, Student Affairs, and Admissions."

In addition, the award recognizes Post's scholarship contributions through conference presentations, publications, innovative project implementation, research, and/or grant writing, active membership in professional organizations, a willingness to support and promote his profession through mentoring and positive role modeling - along with experiences in fostering inclusiveness and appreciation of differences.

Located in Washington D.C., the ACPA is the nation's leading comprehensive student affairs association - advancing student affairs and engaging students for a lifetime of learning and discovery.

Post will be recognized in April during the ACPA annual convention in Indianapolis.
