U.S. Wounded Warriors Find a Home at the Mount
Emmitsburg, Maryland - Mount St. Mary’s University welcomed a new cohort of wounded American veterans, participating in the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs Warriors 2 Workforce program, at a Convocation Ceremony on February 4.
This is the second cohort of veterans participating in the Warriors 2 Workforce program — which began in 2011. The inaugural cohort focused on the field of federal contracting.. This second cohort of 22 veterans is specializing in program management and information technology. The University’s Richard J. Bolte Sr., School of Business is providing select business offerings preparing veterans for a career in government program management and information technology; during the first program year. The initial Mount St. Mary’s University curriculum covers fundamental business education, computer science and information technology.
“This program offers our veterans a tremendous opportunity to gain essential training and expertise for their future professions,” said University President Thomas H. Powell. “We are honored to serve those who have sacrificed so much in defense of our nation.”
The Mount is offering additional courses permitting interested veterans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
