Mount Education Students Updated on Latest Federal Classroom Safety Recommendations
Emmitsburg, Maryland- After analyzing numerous school shooting episodes over the last decade, the FBI has updated its recommendations for classroom safety. Now, since the tragic shootings of elementary students in Newtown, Connecticut, trainings in these new procedures has been accelerated in school districts across the country.
The Mount's Department of Education recently held a workshop for Mount Education students - keeping them updated and prepared concerning the latest federal recommendations and to discuss the impact they will have in their classrooms. Dr. Barbara Marinak, associate professor of education explains the new recomendations and why it is important for the Mount Education students to be trained in the latest safety procedures.
