Group at Regional literacy conferenceSix Mount Education students attended the Region IV Literacy Conference in New Cumberland, PA with Dr. Cook on November 16, 2013. Literacy consultant Debbie Diller presented on her books Literacy Work Stations and Making the Most of Small Groups.

Junior Natalie Theis said, "I really enjoyed the conference! I loved getting to learn more about what we have learned in our Education classes."

Senior Kelsey Watkins commented, "Debbie Diller made me believe I can make the most out of my space in the classroom by adding literacy stations." All the students agreed with junior Lisa Stauffer's conclusion that this conference "made me that much more excited to have my own classroom one day."

The Criminal Justice Student Association, Education Club, and Educators for Justice represented the SEHS at this year's Activities Fair.

Senior elementary education major Catherine E. Sheehy presented at the Association of Literacy Educators and Researchers in Grand Rapids, Michigan. 

Catie’s presentation was based on her senior honors project titled Implementation of RTI and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Students with Specific Learning Disabilities. 

The Criminal Justice Student Association and Student Veterns Association hosted its annual Purple Heart Car Show on June 2.  The event helps to support the injured men and women of the military and law enforcement. Professor Joseph Vince, Jr. is advisor for both groups. 

The School of Education and Human Services hosted its annual reception for the Class of 2012 graduates and their families on May 11th. The School graduated 28 individuals with Criminal Justice majors, 9 with Sociology majors, and 47 with education majors.  In addition,  6 completed the Master of Education program, and 25 completed the Master of Arts in Teaching degree.  Pictured are some of the Master of Arts in Teaching graduates.
