The competition runs ten weeks from January through March and includes over 600 colleges including campuses in the US, Canada and as far as Qatar.  The friendly competition pits colleges and universities against each other to see which campus can collect and recycle the most materials.

 

Ultimately, the competition's goal is to lower waste generated on-campus by reducing, reusing and recycling and encourage students, faculty, staff and administration to look for ways to scale down the overall carbon footprint of the Mount.
