Emmitsburg, MD – Mount St. Mary’s University announces a Veteran’s Day lecture by Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Edward Chow, Jr., will take place on Thursday, November 11th at 7:30 p.m.
Secretary Chow was appointed in 2009 after serving as Director of Programs for the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies. He also served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. Secretary Chow enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1956 and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in 1962 after completing R.O.T.C. and his undergraduate degree at Seattle University.
Mount St. Mary’s University once served as a training campus for the U.S. Navy during WWII and presently, with over 30 students enrolled in ROTC, full participation in the Yellow Ribbon Program and home of Veterans Walkway, welcomes all U.S. Armed Forces to campus.
The lecture, sponsored by the Mount’s Student Veterans Association, will take place in the Horning Theatre, Delaplaine Fine Arts Center and is free and open to the public.
