Mount VP Advancement Named
The Mount Hires Experienced Fundraiser and Alum as VP for Advancement
Emmitsburg, MD – Mount St. Mary’s University announces Robert "Bob" Brennan, an alumnus from the Class of 1985, has been named Vice President for University Advancement effective November 1, 2010.
The Vice President for University Advancement is a key part of the leadership team and oversees the Office of Development for major gifts, alumni support, endowment donations, the Annual Fund campaign and the fundraising efforts for the Mount St. Mary’s University Seminary and Grotto.
“Bob has a wealth of experience which he will bring to bear for his alma mater,” says President Thomas H. Powell. “With Bob’s proven track record in fundraising and institutional advancement, we are extremely pleased to have him home at the Mount.”
One of the first events for Mr. Brennan will be the closing of the sixty million dollar Generations capital campaign, the largest ever undertaken by the Mount.
Most recently, Mr. Brennan served as Executive Director of the Foundation for Physical Therapy, where he launched and closed several successful campaigns. Mr. Brennan also served as the Executive Director of the Fairfax County Park Foundation, Aronson Philanthropic Partners in Rockville, MD and was Director of Planned Giving for the Humane Society of the United States.
Mr. Brennan earned a BS degree in business and finance from the Mount in 1985. He resides with his wife and two of his three children in Oak Hill, Virginia. The Brennan’s eldest son is a freshman at Mount St. Mary’s University.
