NCAA President Dies

Mount St. Mary's University Bicentennial celebration included several Presidential lectures, among them the President of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Myles Brand.

His dinner lecture at the University Club in Washington focused on his efforts in the NCAA to make academics and education a priority for athletes on college campuses. Mr. Brand had high praise for the Mount's unique sports chaplaincy program and was instrumental in publicizing it to other Division 1 schools.

President Brand died of pancreatic cancer on September 16, 2009.

Please join the Mount in praying for Myles' family and friends.
