EMMITSBURG, MD - People say music is the best bridge among nations.
For the past five years the International Music Institute and Festival hosts a 15 day student program in Emmitsburg.
Musicians from all over the world are carefully selected.
There were 320 applicants and only 30 were chosen.
The students spend 10 days training at Mount Saint Mary's University and the last day is spent with different hosting families.
World-renowned artists and performers help instruct the students and prepare them for their bright future.
Among the group is Yuka Kubota. She's the youngest musician at 11 years old. The violinist has already performed in Carnegie Hall.
She says, "I wasn't nervous at all because I couldn't actually see the audience. I just saw my violin. And I just heard people clapping."
Free concerts will continue until July 21st.
