Donor Appreciation Event in New York City
The Office of Annual Giving visited the Big Apple Last week, but not for a window shopping tour of FAO Schwartz, Lord and Taylor or Saks 5th Avenue. On December 4th, the Annual Fund went to New York City to host their 2nd donor appreciation event this year. Mounties met in Manhattan for an evening of great conversation and wine tasting. The event was held at alumna Jane (Mackie) Lambert’s C’89 new wine bar, Uncorked. Jane is no stranger to hosting Mount events. Earlier this year she closed her bar to the public in order to host the Office of Alumni Relations and local Mounties. 
As with previous donor appreciation events, this evening was open to all alumni, parents and friends in the New York City area who supported the Mount with a gift in 2008. “We host these events to personally thank donors for their generous gifts to the Mount,” said Marianne Dempsey, Director of Annual Giving and Class of 1995 graduate. “What may be most satisfying is seeing alumni from all generations share stories with each other of their experiences at the Mount. Their stories are unique and yet, they all share similarities, even throughout the generations.” The success of these two events has prompted planning for more events in the near future. The next event is planned for the spring in D.C. Be alert for an event in your area! 
Donor Appreciation Event in Philadelphia
Teaming up with the rest of the development staff, the Office of Annual Giving is reaching out to donors across the country. Through campus updates, E- newsletters, informal gatherings and phone calls from class agents, the Annual Fund is excited to let Mount alumni, parents and friends know that their support is appreciated. One of these gatherings was held just outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. On October 30, over 30 Mounties and friends met at the Ristorante La Laconda for an evening of food, wine and great company. The event was designed to personally thank the generous supporters in the Philadelphia area. Marianne Dempsey, Director of Annual Giving and class of 1995 graduate, organized the event with the generous help of former colleagues. Intimate gatherings like this Philadelphia event give alumni donors the chance to form a stronger bond with the Mount and reconnect with fellow Mounties. These events also transcend generational boundaries and give Mounties a chance to share their unique experiences and perspectives. “This was such a huge success that we are hoping to host more of these events,” said Marianne. “We are finalizing an event in New York City for December and hope to host one in Washington D.C. in the spring.”
