New Student Housing Roommate Matching

Freshmen Students: New Student Housing Application and Roommate Matching Preferences must be submitted by June 30.
Transfer Students: New Student Housing Application and Roommate Matching Preferences must be submitted by July 9.

Roomate Matching:

The Roommate Matching section is found on the Housing System. On the system homepage, you will notice a box on the right that says "Your Passcode." This is a code generated for each resident, which you can give to another new student to link the two of you together. Before you give out your passcode, please be positive that you want to live with that person.

If you change your mind after giving out your passcode, you may go to the group tab in the roommate matching section and remove yourself from the group you're linked to.

You are NOT required to select a specific roommate.
Residence Life will match all students who do not select a specific roommate with other students based on compatible answers to the Roommate Matching Form. All roommate selections and changes in the application must be completed by June 30. Applications will remain open to edit until then. Applications will show in draft form until submitted. The application will not be complete until you officially submit it. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me through one of the methods below.

Use your Mount email to login into the Mount St. Mary's University Housing System

Search Profiles (Your roommate passcode is in parentheses next to your name in the upper righthand side of the screen.)

Steps for roommate matching (screenshot tutorial below):

Step One: Login then click on the Roommate Matching tab at the top.
*Now, you can search for residents who match your profile by searching by your top 3 questions available on this page.
Step Two: If you find a profile of a resident you'd like to contact, click on the "Send Message" button on the lefthand side while you're viewing the profile which will bring you to the screen below. You can then type them a message which will be emailed to them. Remember to include your contact information in your message.

*After you click submit in the search screen, you will be brought to the browse matching profiles screen as show below. You can click on the profile to view it.

Step Two Screen Shots: If you find a profile of a resident you'd like to contact, click on the "Send Message" button on the lefthand side while you're viewing the profile which will bring you to the screen below. You can then type them a message which will be emailed to them. Remember to include your contact information in your message.

Step Three: If you have resident(s) you'd like to live with next year, ask them for their roommate passcode and enter it in the Roommates fill in the blank one at a time in the Group tab on the roommate matching page. When you enter in the passcode, their name will appear then you must click on it and it will move their name to the box below. Click save at the bottom and this will link all of you together. You can enter up to 3 passcodes of residents to live with.
*Only one person will need to enter the resident(s) passcode(s) in the Roommate Matching section.
