New Student Housing
Welcome to the Mount!
Choosing where you will live on campus when you come to the Mount is exciting! Each housing option has unique features and activities for your preferred lifestyle. All incoming freshmen and transfer students have five options available when applying for housing. *Please note that you can only apply for one option.
Housing Options:
Once you have decided where you would like to live, you will need to apply for new student housing and select your rommmate matching preferances. The housing application process opens May 25. To access the housing registration system you will need your Mount email and password. All incoming freshman and transfer students will recieve their Mount email and password in the mail.

Important dates for housing forms:
May 25 - Mount St. Mary's University Housing System opens for registration
May 31- All email address should be available from Center for Instructional Technology
June 30 - Freshman Housing Application and Roommate Preferances due
July 9 - Transfer student Housing Application and Roommate Preferences due
NEW STUDENT HOUSING OPTIONS:
The Faith Development Community (FDC) is a living-learning community offered through the Office of Residence Life. The FDC’s primary purpose is to offer greater opportunity for students of faith to develop their beliefs and understandings by providing a supportive and respectful living environment. Students of diverse religious background are encouraged to seek out the FDC. Freshman students residing in FDC will be notified of their building placement when they receive their assignment in August. The building for freshman FDC will be determined based on the number of students interested in this housing option.
Students wishing to enroll in the FDC:
- Must complete application and application be accepted for Faith Development Community (FDC)
- Must be active in an organized religion
- Must be respectful to other students regardless of religious difference
- Must agree to participate in community service each semester
General Housing will be in Sheridan Hall, Pangborn Hall, Bradley Hall and possibly the Terrace Complex. Students who choose this option will be assigned randomly to one of these buildings. These areas are home to mainly freshman students. Transfer students are assigned based on their class year. Generally upperclassmen are housed in the Terrace Complex, Bicentennial Hall and the Apartments Complex.
The Honors Living-Learning Community offers the opportunity for members of the Honors program to continue their collaborative learning experiences in a relaxed residential setting. Students are able to pursue a range of academic and social activities with like-minded colleagues. At the same time, they will develop strong friendships through common goals, classes, conversation and fun. Freshman students residing in Honors Housing will be housed in Sheridan Hall and upperclassmen students will be housed in Bicentennial Hall.
Summit Living is primarily a holistic wellness community in which all aspects of one’s mental, physical and spiritual health are managed. Summit Living is a drug and alcohol free community composed of a supportive group of like-minded individuals with a drive to succeed. This living area is meant to be more than just a place where students live, but also a place where educates students can grow in whatever way they choose. Summit residents are mature individuals who are challenged to take an active role in their on-campus life, and in an effort to assist residents along their path to leadership and responsibility. They will be deeply encouraged to invent independant programs that enrich their community, and not to rely on others to shape their social activities. In this way Summit Living is a close-knit community and offers many exciting hall activities, contests and interesting volunteer opportunities. Freshman students residing in Summit Living will be notified of their building placement when they receive their assignment in August. The building for freshman Summit Living will be determined based on the number of students interested in this housing option. Upperclassmen students residing in Summit Living will be housed in the Annex, suites in DuBois and the Summit House.
Women in Science (WIS) Housing
WIS Housing is an on-campus residential community for Mount students that promotes a specialized living and learning environment. We seek to promote a strong sense of community comprised of like-minded individuals, committed to building a nurturing and supportive environment for young women to realize their academic potential, explore their vocation in science, find faith in themselves, discover and manifest shared values in everyday living and gain leadership skills through new experiences and challenges. Freshmen students residing in WIS Housing will be housed in Sheridan Hall and upperclassmen students will be housed in Bicentennial Hall.
