The Intramural Sports program at Mount St. Mary’s University offers students, faculty, staff and administrators the opportunity to play against one another in a variety of sports leagues and tournaments.  Intramural sports provide opportunities for participants to have fun and get exercise in a structured environment.  Although many games are competitive, and winning the elusive Intramural Champion t-shirt is always a goal, the program’s points of emphasis remain sportsmanship and building a sense of community. 

Participants in our program range from seasoned-athletes to novice players looking for fun.  We offer a range of different intramural leagues (men’s, women’s and co-rec) and levels of competition (competitive and recreational), so everyone is sure to find an opportunity that suits them best. 

Throughout a typical academic year, the program consists of four different intramural league seasons and various tournaments and special events.  Some of the leagues/events that we have offered during the course of the 2009-2010 academic year include…

Fall Season I 2009 (outdoor leagues/events – ran from September 7^th to October 8^th)

-          Flag Football (men’s and co-rec leagues)

-          Beach Volleyball (men’s and co-rec leagues)

-          Wiffleball (co-rec league)

-          Each 1, Reach 1 Basketball Tournament

Fall Season II 2009 (indoor leagues/events – ran from November 2^nd to December 10^th)

-          Indoor Soccer (men’s and co-rec leagues)

-          Dodgeball (men’s and co-rec leagues)

-          Indoor Volleyball (co-rec league)

-          Turkey Trot 5K Race & Relay

Spring Season I 2010 (indoor leagues/events – ran from February 1^st to March 30^th)

-          Basketball (men’s, women’s and co-rec leagues)

-          Inner Tube Water Polo (men’s and co-rec leagues)

-          Wallyball (co-rec league)

-          Biathlon

Intramural activities are open to any matriculating Mount student (undergraduate or graduate), and any current employee on the Mount payroll. Intramurals are NOT open to spouse/dependents of those listed above or to ARCC members and nonmembers.
