MountReport
Mount St. Mary’s University’s Department of Public Safety Department depends on community cooperation in crime investigation and prevention. A big part of that community cooperation involves reporting of information and intelligence on crime that may occur or has already occurred or conditions that create a risk to the safety and security of the Mount community.
Community members are encouraged to share information regarding a crime or unsafe condition that might affect the Mount community with the Public Safety Department. Crimes in-progress or conditions that create and immediate threat to the safety or security of the Mount community should be reported promptly to the Public Safety Department in person or at the campus emergency number (301) 447-5911.
The Public Safety Department is aware that some community members are reluctant to come forward with crime or safety information for any number of reasons. In recognition of that reluctance the University has created the on-line MountReport reporting form. The MountReport reporting form allows community members to make anonymous, untraceable reports of crime or safety/security information to the Public Safety Department. Community members may include their contact information in the form if they wish but are not required to do so.
MountReport tips are delivered to an e-mail inbox that is only monitored during regular business hours. As a result Public Safety investigators may not respond to MountReport tips until the next business day.
Note: Crimes in-progress or conditions that create and immediate threat to the safety or security of the Mount community should be reported promptly to the Public Safety Department in person or at the campus emergency number (301) 447-5911.
