Office of Social Justice
Mount students participate in local, domestic, and international service experiences.
The Office of Social Justice at Mount St. Mary's University provides students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to put social justice education into action. By participating in local, domestic, and international service experiences, participants are able to be agents of positive social change. Through service, service-learning, and community-based advocacy initiatives, the Office of Social Justice strives to provide the highest quality immersion and educational experiences for the Mount Community and those we serve. The staff members of the Office of Social Justice are experienced facilitators for training programs, service experiences, group discussions, and retreats; let us help you!
Our Activities and Services
► Service Experiences
The Office of Social Justice offers a wide variety of service experiences to the Mount community, including day trips to a wide variety of community partners. Participants will be given an opportunity to engage in service and then reflect on related social justice issues.
► Immersion Trips
Immersion trips are offered during fall and spring break, as well as during the summer. These incredible experiences, ranging from one to two weeks, allow participants to connect with the greater domestic and international community through service, building community, and reflection.
CORE is a unique leadership development program offered by the Office of Social Justice. Passionate, enthusiastic student leaders are fully trained through this intensive, rewarding program to plan, facilitate, and lead the trips and events run by the Office of Social Justice.
► Catholic Leadership Scholarship
The Office of Social Justice annually awards 5 first year students who have demonstrated academic excellence and extraordinary service during their high school career with the Catholic Leadership Scholarship.
