Insurance Information

Undergraduate students and seminarians do not need health insurance to see the doctor here at Health Services. Health insurance is not required but strongly recommended at Mount St. Mary's University. If a student does not have health insurance, they may purchase a school-sponsored plan through the Mount's health insurance advocate, Hulse/QM. Otherwise, they would be considered "self-pay."

If students have their own health insurance policy, they must make a copy of the front and back of their insurance card and submit this to Health Services. It is the responsibility of the student to make sure that Health Services always has their current insurance information on file. Also, because of the high cost of prescription medication, a copy of the front and back of your prescription card is required as well. This will help Heath Services decide whether it is necessary to write a prescription for a student or dispense in-stock medication.
