The Class of 2012 Ring Committee was able to host one of the best ring weekends in Mount history, giving an amazing experience to all of their classmates! This weekend was truly remarkable from the start of the day until to the end.
2012 Ring Mass
The combination of the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception renovations and the beautiful ceremony planned, allowed the tradition to become a moving experience for the hundreds upon hundreds of students and families in attendance. Fr. Brian Nolan, Campus Chaplain, gave a moving homily highlighting the 2012 Ring Significances that are embedded in the class side of the rings. This was followed by the ceremony which was led by The 2012 Ring Committee: Megan Ritchey (Chair), Ann Czapski, John Foster, and Lauren Savage. The traditional blessing of the rings was made by Fr. Nolan. Michael Post, Class of 1997 and Dean of Admissions, gave an extremely powerful speech that was able to capture the meaning of the ring and the memories held within it. The ceremony ended with the receiving of rings, handed out individually to each student by President and Mrs. Powell. It truly was an experience that will be remembered for a lifetime.
Following the Mass was a light reception where students and families were able to mingle and socialize with fellow classmates and parents, along with President and Mrs. Powell. For parents, it was a great way to connect with the friends and families of their sons or daughters.
2012 Ring Dance
The 2012 Ring Committee and the Campus Activities Office put on a beautiful, classy, and fun dance for students to end the evening. Students were able to prepare for the dance with their fellow classmates and arrived for a great time as one, proud, Class of 2012. The dance will be a night they will all remember, much like the thousands of Alum, who still point to the dance as a highlight of their time at Mount St. Mary’s.
