For almost 100 years, Mount students have participated in the Ring Tradition, an experience that extends generations into both the past and future. Junior students are presented their rings at the annual Ring Mass and wear them as a reminder of the goal of graduation. Alumni proudly wear their rings as an outward symbol of their time at the Mount, their accomplishments, their memories and their Mountaineer pride.
The tradition begins every year in the fall, when the class ring is revealed and the junior class places orders. Students are then presented with these timeless symbols during a full Catholic mass, where the rings are blessed in the presence of family, friends and the Mount Community. That same evening, the junior class holds a semi-formal Ring Dance to celebrate this momentous occasion.
Order Rings Online
Rings can be purchased online at www.balfour.com simply by searching for “Mount St. Mary’s University” and selecting “Class of” in the “Rings” section. Representatives from Balfour will also be on campus for sizing and ordering assistance on various dates.
Ring Purchase deadline: September 13
Junior Class Ring Mass
All members of the junior class and their family and friends are welcome to attend the Ring Mass and Reception regardless of whether the student has chosen to purchase a class ring or not.
Junior Class Semi-Formal Ring Dance
All members of the junior class are also invited to attend and are allowed to bring one guest. Guests may be outside of the junior class or non-Mount students. All students and guests must bring photo ID to be admitted to the dance.
This event is co-sponsored by the Class of 2016 Ring Committee and Campus Activities.
