SERVICE AT MOUNT ST. MARY’S The Office of Community Service offers a variety of opportunities: assisting those who are disadvantaged and marginalized in our society. Service work may be individual or in groups. Activities are open to the entire Mount community, with students, seminarians and employees often joining together to help those in need. During break periods, domestic and international trips are offered to work with organizations such as Glenmary, Habitat for Humanity, St. Vincent Youth Center and St. Peter Claver parish in Punta Gorda, Belize. Working with these organizations the Mount community reaches out to our brothers and sisters around the world. On-campus fundraisers such as Hike for Hunger and ActSpeakBuild's HabiFest enable the entire university community to help those less fortunate. The Office of Community Service not only teaches how we can be agents of change in our communities and in our world, but also provides meaningful experiences through which students can put their gifts and skills to work. |
