Third Century Scholars

Making College a Reality for Motivated Students
The Third Century Scholars Program assists low-income, underrepresented students from the Washington, D.C. metro area to obtain a college degree and return to the area to serve and lead in their communities. The program provides financial support, as well as mentoring and social support, to help students succeed in earning a bachelor's degree at Mount St. Mary's University.
Financial Support
Third Century Scholars receive Mount St. Mary's University scholarships, other financial aid, federal grants and student loans that will cover the complete cost of attendance (tuition, room, board, fees and personal expenses) through graduation.
Who May Apply?
Highly motivated students, committed to leadership and serivce, who wish to pursue a bachelor’s degree.
Must have successfully completed a college prep curriculum with a B or better average.
Must be an ethnic minority student (U.S. citizen) residing or attending high school in the Washington, D.C. metro area
Must demonstrate financial need - eligible to receive a federal Pell Grant
Must plan to live on campus
Open to individuals of all faiths
Must have applied and received admission to the Mount
