Career Center Programs
Family Fest Open House
Early in the fall semester, the Career Center staff has an Open House during the weekend of Fall Fest. This is a great time for students and their families to drop by and find out ways the Career Center can help them meet their career goals.
Accounting Majors Start-Up
This information session prepares all interested sophomore, junior, senior and MBA students for the upcoming Accounting Evening and participation in the On-Campus Recruitment program. Internships, resume writing, and interviewing techniques are also discussed.
Accounting Evening is an opportunity for students interested in accounting internships and permanent positions to learn about and network with firms that partner with Mount St. Mary’s On-Campus Recruitment program.
This information session focuses on graduate school information: the application process, financial aid, and higher education programs. This event is usually held off campus at Loyola College. Transportation is provided by Mount St. Mary’s Career Center.
These sessions give students an opportunity to learn more about an organization, its available positions, the application process, and time to ask questions. Recruiters from the organization host the session and sessions usually last 90 minutes.
The Etiquette Dinner is offered to seniors on first-come, first-serve basis. At this event, you will learn the proper way to eat a five-course meal. The Career Center hosts this event because employers may invite candidates to dinner as part of the interview process.
Federal Agency Week
The Career Center invites government agencies to conduct information sessions on campus. These sessions provide information on internships and full time opportunities as well as the application process. There is also time for question and answer. Past attending agencies have included the FBI, NSA, and the Secret Service.
MCC Job Fair
Each year MCC hosts an internship and job fair at a nearby college. Last year 148 organizations participated.
Mount St. Mary’s Career Fair
Every spring, Mount St. Mary’s Career Center hosts a Career Fair. Last year over 30 organizations participated. This year's fair is on March 18, 2015 in Patriot Hall.
Mount St. Mary’s Human Services and Volunteer Fair
Every other year, Mount St. Mary's hosts a volunteer/nonprofit fair that attracts local and national organizations.
Alumni Career Panel
Alumni from various disciplines are invited to campus to talk about the transitions to the work place. This is also an opportunity to learn to network.
Each year, we offer workshops on a variety of topics. Examples of the workshops include personal branding, Resumania, internships, GRE preparation and social media.
Career Athlete Week
Athletes have unique, transferable skills that can be an asset in the work world. The Career Center spends a week each spring, focusing on athletes and their transition to the professional setting.
