Annual Report and Statistics
The Career Center carries out extensive review of the services provided and statistics on our graduates and students. Here are a few highlights of our achievements for 2010-2011:
Advising/Guidance
Secured funding to continue the ReadyMinds career counseling partnership for alumni counseling which served 147 alumni.
Five hundred twenty (520) scheduled appointments were made at the Career Center by students and alumni with an additional 86 students that dropped into the Career Center. An increase of 53 students from last year. This could be a direct link to the individual letters that were mailed out to students.
The Career Center reached 50% of the undergraduate population through directly through our services and programs.
Two hundred and six (206) mentors are registered with the Career Mentoring System.
Approximately 3,500 emails have been exchanged through e-mail advising.
Out of the 25.2% of students who applied to graduate school , 45% of students were accepted in graduate school programs.
Conducted a new random counseling survey of our counselors, measuring student satisfaction with one-on-one appointments. Seventy-five (75) students were surveyed. 99% of students reported that their goals had been met during the counseling sessions and 97% rated 8 and above in how knowledgeable their counselor was. 98% reported that the felt better prepared in the area that they sought counseling on.
Internship Program
One hundred sixty-eight (168) students have taken part in credit-based internships, with a total of 557 credits awarded resulting in 22,280 internship work hours.
Two (2) students took part in the semester long Mount in Washington Internship Program. Eight students took part in international internships in Ecuador and London. The Director traveled to Ecuador to visit internship sites and evaluate the program.
Recruitment Services
Twenty-five (25) organizations recruited on campus through our on-campus recruiting program, in addition to holding 9 company information sessions and 10 recruitment tables.
Eighty-three (83) students took part in our On-Campus Recruiting Program, with 176 scheduled interviews conducted on campus.
31% of the seniors who completed the exit survey (90% response rate) had been either offered or accepted a position at the time of graduation.
Introduced a new 6 month benchmark survey after graduation for the Class of 2010 to measure outcomes of employment; 88% of students were employed 6 months after graduation.
Workshops, Programs & Presentations
Successfully provided 80 workshops and presentations for students and community members to help with their career development needs. Twenty-two (22) Admissions-related presentations were conducted. A total of 795 different students were served through our programs.
Hosted 5 employment fairs, including 1 on campus and a Virtual Fair.
