Meet the Community Service Office Staff

Jeff Abel- Director of Community Service

Jeff came to the Mount from Lehigh University where he received his B.A. and M.Ed.  As Director of Community Service, Jeff coordinates all service experiences (on-campus, domestic, and international), assists students in finding service placements in the community, and develops the leadership training curriculum for the CORE Leadership training program and other on-campus groups.  Before joining the Mount community, Jeff worked in Lehigh's Student Activities Office and at Broughal Middle School in Bethlehem, PA.  He also has experience as a retreat director and program facilitator with youth and young adult ministry programs in the Archdiocese of Baltimore.  Jeff invites all students to answer the call and the challenge to serve! Jeff wants to remind students that "We are presented with opportunities every day to help others, to reach out, and to live in a way that promotes social equity for all. We can be agents of change in our local and global community, we just need to make that choice and live that way."
