My summer was a blur. Between partying, work and summer school it was a lot of fun but short. I had to come back to the Mount on August 11 for my Resident Assistant training. When I came I was hesitant and excited at the same time. Hesitant because I was not sure how training was going to be, with the work load and responsibilities of a Resident Assistant, and unsure how I would handle certain situations. Excited because I was coming back to school to see everyone (I had friends who are on the staff) including the incoming freshmen. Training was a lot of fun and it prepared me for the journey ahead. I conquered my fear of heights at the ropes course, had fun at the President's dinner and enjoyed all the activities. The first week was hectic yet exhilarating. Freshmen moved in on the 20th and school started the following Tuesday. There were a lot of activities for freshman orientation: from Convocation (a mass and celebration of the incoming students and ceremony where students and faculty take an oath to the school); to the hilarious hypnotist, so the transition from summer to school was not that bad. We have more in store and I think that this year is going to be fun! |
