September: Here we go again Wow, being a sophomore has its ups and downs. It is a lot different than the first year, “I’m new to this campus” feel; I now know almost every nook and cranny to this campus. Unlike last year, I have a lot of different activities on my plate. It’s been a month since I have been an RA and let me tell you it has been a roller coaster ride. Day in and day out I am responsible for 45 girls whose charming personalities scare and amuse me. As a Resident Assistant I have many responsibilities that make my job hectic and enjoyable. We, as RA’s, have to make hall programs that foster a community and give residents something to do as a hall. My first hall program was a dinner at the May Flower’s restaurant in Gettysburg, PA. It was a hilarious time and a great chance for all my girls to bond together as a floor. The beauty of having hall programs are that you get to do things you want to do (when you tell your RA) with people you wouldn’t normally hang out with yet live with. We left the restaurant 2 hours later, full, happy and content. I'm not going to worry, even though I have this huge responsibility, I am excited to see what the semester brings with my girls! |
