Summer's Over Summer has ended and my friends and I all really looked forward to coming back to the Mount. We missed each other after spending more than months apart. This year, my roommate Jessica and I are living in the on-campus apartments. The apartments on campus are for seniors, and some juniors who get lucky in the housing lottery. Jess and I were lucky enough to get a two-person apartment this year. We were put together as roommates freshman year, and we got along really well and have lived together ever since. This is the first year that it’s just the two of us, but all of our other friends live nearby. That’s one of the advantages of a small campus. The best thing about our apartment is that we get to try cooking for the first time. Our main dishes are pasta and chicken … and if we are too busy to cook, there is always Patriot Hall! There were a lot of events on campus to welcome the students back. We had a Crab Feast to teach all those out-of-staters what Maryland is all about! We also has a Hawaiian Tiki Dance—which is held outside every year, and my roommate and I both have September birthdays! Classes are going well so far. I’m missing my family a little, but they will be up to visit soon for family weekend. Check out my pictures to see what else I’ve been up to! |
