Seminary Transcript Requests

 Procedures

In compliance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (Buckley Amendment), the seminary registrar may not disclose any information contained in a student’s pre-theology or seminary academic record to a third party without that student’s express written consent.  Please note also that a transcript may not be released if the student has any outstanding financial obligations to the Mount.  Official copies are generally not issued directly to the student.

All transcript requests must be put in writing and should include:

  • Name and address of the institution that should receive an official copy of the transcript
  • Personal identifying information, such as the years of attendance and/or the Social Security or student ID number
  • Current address and telephone number of the student

All requests for transcripts (either official or unofficial) must be personally signed and dated by the student.

There is a minimal fee of $5 per official transcript, payment of which should accompany the request. Kindly make checks payable to Mount St. Mary’s Seminary.

Requests and payment should be mailed to:
         Office of the Seminary Registrar
         McSweeny Hall, ground floor
         Mount St. Mary’s Seminary
         16300 Old Emmitsburg Rd
         Emmitsburg, MD 21727-7797

An unofficial copy of the transcript may be issued to the student or other parties designated by the student upon written request of the student.  There is no charge for this service, although donations are always welcome.

Students who also received an undergraduate degree from Mount St. Mary’s University must make a separate written request for transcripts showing the B.A. degree work. Click Here for the university registrar’s transcript request procedures.
