Fr. Lane was ordained to the priesthood in 1990 and earned a Licentiate in Sacred Scripture from the Pontifical Biblical Institute (Rome) in 1992 and a Doctorate in Sacred Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University (Rome) in 1994. He has maintained his proficiency in a number of European languages since his time in Rome. While in parish ministry in Ireland he taught many courses on Sacred Scripture to adults in parishes and at the Maryvale Institute, Birmingham, UK. He came to the Mount in 2004 and frequently serves at weekends in surrounding parishes. He has taught many seminars online for the Catholic Distance University. His website receives an average of more than 2000 visitors each day.
