For Faculty and Staff

Ways for students to get involved include:

  • Campus Ministry retreats for current students and the Mountward Bound retreat for new students
  • Seminars and workshops on public service, leadership development, social justice, work, lay ministry, discernment of religious callings, and the theology and psychology of vocation
  • Film discussion and lecture series
  • Spiritual counseling by Campus Ministry staff
  • Support for students seeking to become lay or ordained ministers
  • Exploration of vocation and life choices in academic courses
  • Regional and international service trips during breaks
  • The national Callings Conference 
  • Other programs suggested by students, faculty and staff

Ways for faculty and staff to get involved include:

  • Annual Days of Reflection for faculty and staff
  • Summer seminars for faculty
  • Staff seminars
  • Film discussion and lecture series
  • Book discussion groups
  • New faculty and staff mentoring
  • Support in developing and revising courses to explore vocation and life choices
  • Support in developing a service learning component to enrich three-credit courses
  • Regional and international service trips during breaks
  • The national Callings Conference 
  • Support for those seeking to become lay or ordained ministers

Callings is sponsored by the Mount and a grant from the Lilly Endowment, which funds efforts throughout the country to help students explore faith and life choices.

Callings includes numerous programs and opportunities to support the Mount community—students, faculty, staff and alumni—as we each seek to understand and respond to God’s call, whether to church ministry, leadership service or other options.
