Mount Wins in Penalty Kicks to Advance to the NEC Championship on Sunday, Nov. 16 Mount St. Mary's defeated Monmouth in penalty kicks to advance to the Northeast Conference Championship on Friday afternoon. The two teams battled to a scoreless tie after 90 minutes of regulation and two 10-minute overtimes, forcing the game to be decided by penalty kicks. Vinnie Berry, Chris Wheeler and Eric Detzel each converted a penalty kick to lift the Mount to a 3-2 advantage in the penalty kicks and a spot in the championship game on Sunday. The Mount advances to face the winner of the second semifinal between Quinnipiac and Fairleigh Dickinson.
