Mount Campus Activities Recognized for Originality The Mount received four regional awards at the annual National Association of Campus Activities, Mid Atlantic Regional Conference held Lancaster, PA in October. The awards include: “Outstanding Leadership Program” – for SLAC, the Student Leadership Advisory Committee “Outstanding Educational Program” – for the Campus Activities Speaker Series "Outstanding Student Designed One Color Poster” – for Christina McLean’s work on Black Violin "Outstanding Student Designed Theme Publicity” – for the Pink Positive philanthropy campaign NACA is a non-profit organization that allows universities from all over the United States to preview and book acts, such as musicians, comedians and speakers. The conference allows students to become better leaders through educational sessions, booking talent and meeting with agents to learn the business side of campus activities. Brooke Donovan, from the Mount’s Campus Activities Offices, was the School Registration Coordinator for the region and Liz Mitros,‘09 served as student representative to the region. Donovan explained that Mount activities are recognized for being unique because most events are planned by students for students. “We are one of the few schools that strives to provide programming for almost every weekend while working within a small budget.” |
