New Chaplain returns to his roots Fr. Brian Nolan, a graduate of the Mount’s Seminary, has been selected as the new director of Campus Ministry and Campus Chaplain “I am looking forward to serving at the Mount as the Campus Chaplain and Director of Campus Ministry." says Fr. Nolan. "I have always loved ministry to college students and young adults and the Mount is home to me. I look forward to being able to serve in a way that combines these two things so close to my heart.” Fr. Nolan graduated from Towson University in 1992 with a B.A. in Mass Communications and then earned an M.A. in Moral Theology from Mount St. Mary's Seminary in 2001. Fr. Nolan presently serves as an Associate Pastor at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church in Pasadena, MD and he was the former Catholic Campus Minister at McDaniel College. “We are going to see a lot of Fr. Nolan on campus,” says Mount President Thomas H. Powell. “He has innovative ideas and a strong grasp on what ministry at the Mount is all about….and he has a good sense of humor.” Along with Fr. Nolan’s dedication to his calling, he currently helps promote "Men-in-Black" (priests and seminarians) basketball games to help young people to respond to God's invitation in answering the call to priesthood and religious life. He also helped create the "Back-from-the-Dead Cemetery Walk," an engaging and inspiring "evangelization drama" to help teach the Catholic faith. |
