Mardi Gras Night at the Seminary On February 5th, the Seminary Rec Room came alive in the purple, green and gold colors of Mardi Gras as 175 seminarians, faculty and staff gathered for a festive Fat Tuesday dinner. Fr. Brett Brannen, vice rector, offered the invocation and Grace the before meal as his mother Sylvia is a New Orleans native. The tasty menu was straight from Cajun country: alligator hors d’oeuvre's, chicken and sausage gumbo, red beans and rice, corn bread dressing and king cake. The crowd was not disappointed. For the past several years, this festive dinner has become one of the most popular events for the seminary community as preparation for the holy season of Lent. The chefs for the Fat Tuesday dinner were Brad Guillory (third theology), Clinton Sensat (third theology), and Brandon Granger (first theology) from the Diocese of Lafayette, LA. They were assisted by the Seminarian Social Committee. |
