Mount Students Honored in Nationwide Business Society EMMITSBURG, MD. – Mount St. Mary’s University announces 28 of its undergraduate business students have been inducted into Delta Mu Delta, the international honor society in Business Administration. The society recognizes and rewards superior scholastic achievement by the students of business administration with more than 125,000 members nationwide. “Businesses know a Mount graduate with Delta Mu Delta on their resume is a hard worker in the top twenty percent of their class. Only the best make it into the honor society,” says Dr. Charles A. Beitz, Jr. the Mount academic moderator “It’s rewarding to have Mount St. Mary’s students be recognized nationally as Delta Mu Delta scholars for their excellence and effort.” Dr. Beitz was honored at the dinner by the National Board of Directors of Delta Mu Delta for his twenty-eight years of leadership of the local chapter. Under his guidance, the Beta Pi Chapter has recognized and honored 833 Mount students. The proclamation states: “Dr. Beitz, through his many accomplishments and contributions continually reflects and demonstrates integrity, wisdom and genuine helpfulness.” The Mount faculty in business, accounting and economics also paid tribute to Dr. Beitz, recognizing his dedication and success as the moderator of the university’s chapter. “We not only recognize the achievements of our students but the hard work and dedication of Dr. Beitz,” says Dr. William G. Forgang, Ph.D., the Mount’s Chair of the Department of Business, Accounting and Economics. “One of Dr. Beitz’s teaching themes is servant leadership; he lives those values daily, and we are honored by his contributions to the department” The Mount St. Mary’s Business program combines a strong liberal arts base with degree programs in accounting, economics, information systems and sports management. In addition to the traditional undergraduate business program, the Mount offers an MBA programs at both the Emmitsburg and Frederick campuses and an accelerated degree in business for working adults.
