On Monday, November 19, 2007 at 2:00 p.m., a memorial service will be held for Professor Emilio A. Rodríguez in the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception on the Mount St. Mary’s University campus.  A reception will immediately follow in the Cardinal Keeler Dining Room.

We are all saddened at the loss of such an extraordinary man and a valued professor however we will mark the day with a special service celebrating Dr. Rodríguez’ life and the many gifts we were grateful to share with him.

Therefore, offices may close at 1:45 p.m. to allow those who wish to join us for the service and reception to do so.  Faculty may use their discretion to determine whether to cancel a class during this timeframe.

Condolences may be sent directly to his wife Amelia Y. Rodríguez, c/o Mount St. Mary’s Seminary, 16300 Old Emmitsburg Road, Emmitsburg, Maryland 21727 and to his son, John P. Rodríguez, 1015 Hall Avenue, Apartment 18, Killeen, Texas 76541.

The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Mount St. Mary’s University c/o the Emilio A. Rodríguez Fund for International Studies – or to either the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
