Rev. Mr. Joseph T. Yokum is the 2006 recipient of a Rev. Carl J. Fives Alumni Scholarship, sponsored by the National Alumni Association. Patrick J. Goles, C’64, national alumni president, made the announcement at the traditional Priests’ Alumni Reunion Dinner held on campus on Tuesday, October 3.

Rev. Yokum is a  graduate of  Ohio State University as well as a deacon at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary. He will be ordained for the Diocese of Columbus in the spring of 2007. While at the seminary, Rev. Yokum has served as Second Theology Spiritual Representative, and as Master of Ceremonies during his first, second and third theology years. A former member of the Liturgy Committee, his field education assignments include: St. John Neumann and  St. Martin of Tours  parishes in Gaithersburg, Md., Hagerstown Prison and the Mount’s Office of Campus Ministry.

For Mount 2000, Rev. Yokum served as chairman, vice chairman and chairman of the housing committee. More recently he has organized a dinner for Mount alumni and seminarians in the Diocese of Columbus.
