College Level Examination Program (CLEP)

Mount St. Mary's University grants credit for successful completion of the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) up to a maximum of 30 hours. The university also serves as a test center and administers CLEP examinations on a regular basis to students that have been approved for the program.

Mount St. Mary's University follows the American Council on Education (ACE) score recommendations for granting credit for CLEP tests. Students must receive a minimum score of 50 in all subjects, except foreign languages, which have unique scoring requirements.*

Students must request approval of the registrar prior to taking the CLEP examination. Students that do not have prior approval may not be allowed to receive credit for tests completed.

*Please visit the College Board’s website, www.collegeboard.com, for further information on foreign language minimum scores.
