What are pre-paid accounts? Mount Money and Dining Dollars are declining balance pre-paid service accounts accessed with your MOUNTcard. These accounts provide students with the convenience to make purchases without having to carry cash on campus. A Dining Dollar Account allows you to make purchases in Patriot Hall, the Academic Center Coffee Cart, and the Mount Café tax-free. You may also make purchases at select vending machines on campus and the Barnes and Noble Bookstore (grocery type items only). A Mount Money Account gives the student the flexibility to purchase just about anything they need on campus, from textbooks to registering a vehicle. (Mount Money used in the Dining Area is subject to the 6% sales tax) Dining Dollars and Mount Money roll over from one semester to the next and from year to year. If the balance is $5 or more when you graduate or withdraw from the University, the monies are refunded to you. Flex Dollars are deposited on your card based on the meal plan you purchased. The monies can be spent in Patriot Hall/Mount Cafe and the Coffee Cart tax free, concessions and in the bookstore for grocery type purchases only. These funds do not carry over for the next semester and any remaining funds will be forfeited at the end of the semester. Why use the pre-paid accounts? They’re FREE They’re FAST – they run on the local network and take just the swipe of a card to get you through the line faster than cash or check. No more looking for change for that soda, just swipe the card. At various locations you can see your remaining balance or anytime via the internet. They’re SAFE – if you accidentally lose your ID, your money is secure the minute you report your card lost, and available when you receive a replacement card.
