Peer TutoringStudents with problems mastering the content in a certain class may get help from faculty-recommended and trained peer tutors, who, at no cost to the tutee, will help them prepare for specific subjects, tests and special projects. The use of peer tutors is intended only as a supplement to regular class work. Some classes which are known to be particularly demanding have special peer tutors known as Supplemental Instruction Leaders. The SI Leader is a student who took the class in an earlier semester and mastered the material. Each SI Leader again takes the class, prepares notes, and conducts regularly-scheduled review sessions. |
