| Requirements for the Degree In order to graduate from Mount St. Mary’s University, students must earn a minimum of 120 credit hours with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0. (Students who enroll in MATH 101 Elementary College Algebra or MATH 102 Intermediate College Algebra must earn a minimum of 123 credit hours.) No fewer than 30 of the 120 hours must be earned at Mount St. Mary’s; at least 60 hours of the 120 must be from four-year institutions. In addition, students must: • Fulfill all requirements for the core curriculum • Complete the courses and number of credit hours required by their major field of study • Maintain a 2.0 average overall and in the major • Satisfy the senior year residency requirement by enrolling at the university for 24 of their final 30 hours prior to graduation To be eligible for graduation ceremonies, students must have completed 84 credits by the beginning of their senior year fall semester and 98 credits prior to the outset of their final spring semester. In order to march in the graduation ceremony, students must have completed 98 credits (candidates for May 2010 graduation must complete 100 total credits prior to the outset of the spring semester) prior to the outset of the spring semester. Attendance at commencement activities is mandatory. All students should check their records periodically with their faculty advisor to ensure they are progressing toward fulfillment of graduation requirements. |
