Teaching Certification

The undergraduate program in Art Education prepares students to be certified in Art (pre-K through grade 12). Students complete a major in Fine Arts (B.F.A.) with certification to teach. They also take specific courses and field experiences at the elementary and secondary levels. Visit the education department’s website for more information.

The Master of Arts in Teaching programs in Art and Music Education (M.A.T.) provide certification for students already owning undergraduate degrees in the arts as well as graduate level coursework for established educators.

Interdisciplinary Programs

Many of the department’s elective courses are cross-listed with other programs, allowing students to add an interdisciplinary major or minor or prepare for graduate studies in a composite field.
