State Certification in Teaching Social Studies
The department's teacher education program consists of the social studies/education major. The program prepares students wishing to teach at the secondary level, grades 7-12. The certificates awarded to those who successfully complete the program are valid in all NASDTEC member states. Visit the education department’s site for more.

International Studies Major

Interdisciplinary Minors
Many of the department’s elective courses are cross-listed with other exciting programs, allowing students to add further minors in Environmental Studies, Gender Studies, Latin American Studies, Legal Studies, African-American Studies and Non-Western Studies.
