Praxis Information Praxis I Praxis I must be completed upon admission to the education program. All scores must to be sent to the Univeristy and to Maryland State Deparment of Eduation (MSDE) in order for you to proceed to program completion. The University's college code is 5421. MAT candidate may take the pedagogy exam during Internship II or immediately following. Undegraduate candidates must complete both content and pedagogy Praxis II exams for their certification area in order to be considered a program completer. Getting CertifiedObtaining MSDE Certification requires that candidates: q Complete an approved program. q Meet Maryland’s qualifying scores on the Praxis I and Praxis II. q Send a cover letter with your name, social security number, complete mailing address, phone number, and the area of certification you are seeking. You must also submit your official transcripts for all course work taken. Send test scores for the required teacher certification tests. When requesting an official transcript, inform the Registrar’s Office that the transcript is for MSDE certification and that it includes Praxis I scores, Praxis II scores, Maryland Approved Program stamp and conferral date.
