From Father Jack Lombardi, Grotto Chaplain As we celebrate the 200th year of the Grotto, we may ask: What is the Grotto about? Well, here’s one story. I was recently giving blessing with a relic of Mother Teresa after Sunday noon Mass to all the children gathered. I came upon a little boy in a wheelchair. His family gathered around him and asked for God’s healing. The little boy, age five, said, simply, point blank: “I want to walk.” The Grotto is above all a place of healing and prayer, where all souls can come, like that little boy, and ask for God’s strength, grace and love.
