Degrees for Busy Adults
Whether you want to advance your education or resume your college education, Mount St. Mary’s Center for Professional and Continuing Studies offers a variety of programs in accelerated and other formats for adults at convenient locations in Frederick and the surrounding areas.
About the Mount in Frederick
In 1999, Mount St. Mary's began offering undergraduate degree-completion programs for adults at a location in Frederick (Spectrum Drive, near the FSK Mall). Since then, at an expanded facility with modern classrooms and a conference room, the Center for Professional and Continuing Studies hosts classes for graduate and post-baccalaureate certificate programs as well.
Adult-Friendly Programs
In contrast with the traditional 15-week college semester, most courses in Frederick are offered in 5- or 8-week sessions in the evenings or on Saturdays year-round, allowing busy adults greater flexibility to fit coursework into their demanding schedules. Students may also obtain college credits through testing and portfolio development designed to assess prior learning gained through work and life experience. These program design elements allow adult students to advance quickly to attain a degree or certification.
Academic Advising
Advisors are available to help adults through the admissions process, develop an academic plan, and advise on managing the workload.
Affordable Cost
The tuition for both the undergraduate and graduate programs is far less (40-50%) than traditional college costs, and less than many online programs.
