Mount St. Mary's University is hosting it's Inaugural Master of Health Administration Commencement on Sunday, October 6 at 2 pm, at the Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center in Frederick. This first graduating class of health care professionals earned their degree as a cohort by attending classes for two years. The Mount's MHA program prepares health services managers to integrate health care delivery systems and technological innovation by providing leadership and ethical decision-making skills for the intensely competitve health sciences field. It is Maryland's only accelerated MHA program and the classes are held on Monday nights at the Frederick Campus.

The event is by invitation only. The Delaplaine Center is located at 40 South Carroll Street, Frederick, MD 21701 There is free parking on Sunday in the garage adjacent to Center. Directions

Beginning August 2011, Mount St. Mary’s University will offer a Master of Health Administration (MHA) program at the University’s Frederick Center for Professional and Continuing Studies. Approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission and developed by the Richard J. Bolte Sr., School of Business, the graduate program will serve the fast-growing health care industry.

According to Dr. William Forgang, Dean of the Bolte School of Business, “The need for strong decision-making skills and ethical leadership in health care has never been greater.  This program aims to meet that pressing need.”  The student base for the new program is expected to be drawn from area hospitals, medical practices, insurance companies, pharmaceutical firms, life science and biotech firms, and the health-related activities within Fort Detrick.
