Pray for Praise

"How can you believe, when you accept praise from one another and do not seek the praise that comes from the only God?" John 5: 44

Easter is two and a half weeks from now. Are you ready? Have you stayed true to your Lenten sacrifice? What challenges have you come across?

The readings today reflect upon the human tendency to place the things of this world before God and His infinite praise and love. Is Christ at the center of your thoughts each day? Do you find yourself constantly worrying about your appearance? The number of likes or comments you receive on Facebook? Stress over grades and school work? How do you spend your time? Do you find yourself constantly distracted by social media sites? Are you spending your thoughts and time on the important things in this world or do you find yourself putting material things at the center of your life? Beware of creating "false idols" of these material substances by spending more time on sites and distractions rather than your prayer life. The key to finding happiness is to create a strong relationship with Christ to feel his overwhelming love and praise. Balance your priorities and goals to have time to strengthen your relationship with Christ.

Lord, please help me to discover Your role in my life. Open my heart and mind to your love so that I may use the time You have given me on this earth to praise and please You. Amen.
