God’s Plan is Greater
“For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world
and loses or forfeits himself?”
Luke 9: 25
Who am I? It’s a simple question with no simple answer. Questions of identity, purpose, and value frequently appear throughout our lives. Often when referring to ourselves we state, “I am a bio major” or, “I am a teacher.” These answers, while factually accurate, are fundamentally incomplete. The fact of the matter is that we are infinitely more than what we spend our days doing. How we are labeled by society should hardly define us as human beings. We are all children of a Father who has a unique and an incredible plan for each of us, beyond that of just a bio major or teacher. This Lent, we should all take the time to meditate on God’s plan for us as his children so that we do not succumb to labels, but rise to the greatness for which we are intended.
Lord, grant me the humility to see your plan for my life,
and the courage to take the first step. Amen.
