Happy Easter!
I hope this Easter season finds you and your families filled with the joy of the risen Christ and recommitted to living lives inspired by God's love.
During Easter, it is important to reflect on how proud we are of our unambiguous Catholic identity. At Mount St. Mary's, we strive daily to fulfill our Catholic mission in our academic work, student activities and in the larger community. This commitment to our first calling, faith, requires all of us to live lives in testimony to the truth of the Gospel, to welcome and love others of different faiths, and to be beacons of Christ's love—especially during turbulent times in our society.
Now more than ever, we need to stand firm in our Catholic identity and strengthen our witness to Catholic virtues in our personal and professional lives. The Mount community can and should be an example of a Catholic community that can and will transform society. This was the goal of our founder, Fr. John DuBois. We can do no less.
Peace.
