2012 Reverend Carl J. Fives Alumni Scholarship Recipents

Nancy Abu-Bonsrah

"Due to the generosity of the Mount Alumni network, I would be able to return to the Mount for final year as I continue to pursue my career goal of eventually acquiring an MD/PhD in the biological sciences following my undergraduate studies. Please accept my warmest thanks and regards. I can only hope and pray that I will be able to give back to the Mount as previous alumni have following my graduation."

Courtney Gaddi

"I am very grateful in receiving the Carl J. Fives Alumni Scholarship as it will help me to continue meet my goals and allow me to continue to further my education. Thank you so much for everything!"

Benjamin Green

Benjamin is from Atchinson, Kansas. While atending the Seminary at the Mount he has been the Sacristan for two and a half years, the Saxton for one year, Chaplian of the Women's Lacrosse team for four years, helped out with Mount 2000 for four years, and helped restore the Seminary community and rec room.

Jamie Mullin

"I am so thankful for this generous gift and scholarship. It will enable and equip me with the means to make the most of my education and faith journey here at the Mount. As a result the Mount will guide me closer down the path to becoming a teacher and sharing the good news of Christ with others."

Sarah Pargan

"Without this scholarship I may not have been able to come to the Mount for my senior year. I am so thankful for this and will never forget the generosity of Mr. Conaghan and other scholarship donors."

Joshua Smith

"I am grateful of the generous support for my education from the Rev. Carl Fives Scholarship.  I consider it an honor to receive this award that will allow me to graduate in May of 2012. If it weren't for this Scholarship and those who fund it, I would not be able to reach my current career goal of working for the National Park Service once I graduate."

Maria Sylvester

"I am delighted and honored to receive the Reverend Carl J. Fives Alumni Scholarship. My family instilled in me a humble appreciation for a college education, something I could not have attained without the generosity of others, especially those in Mount Community. In a spirit of gratitude I have dedicated myself to the Mount through my academic endeavors and extracurricular activities. With this award, I will be able to complete my study of English and Secondary Education and serve the Mount Community as a Student Government leader, writing tutor, and more. Just as the Mount has helped me reach an otherwise unattainable gift, I wish to give the gift of education through teaching. After graduation, I hope to serve abroad teaching English in areas of need."

Baltimore Chapter Scholarship Recipent

Samantha Deangler

"To receive such a significant award not only makes my family and I proud, but it also eases the financial burden my family has been facing. It gives me great pride that I am able to help my family through my own academic abilities as well as my community involvement. To financially contribute to my education based on my own merit will motivate me to continue to work towards my success at the Mount.

I cannot say enough how grateful I am to be a recipient of this prestigious scholarship. I will work hard to represent this program in my schoolwork along with my involvement in the Mount community."

Conneticut Alumni Recipent

Raven Andrews

"I would like to whole heartedly thank the Connecticut Alumni Scholarship committee for considering my application and declaring me the 2011 recipient.  I was ecstatic the day I received the news and am still in awe at what a blessing the scholarship is to me. The timing was impeccable given the fact that I will be heading to Dublin, Ireland this upcoming semester. I’m very excited for my experience abroad and because of this reward it will be exceedingly better. Thank you so much for such a great opportunity to expand my horizons."
